Job Summary
The Artist is responsible for providing the best possible experience for our customers. They will host painting events while focusing on painting instruction, as well as food & beverage service.

Responsibilities
- When Leading:
- Ensure the master painting is prepped prior to session and hanging above stage the night before the event
- Print session list and assign group seating prior to session
- Ensure each paint station is set with supplies
- Support with greeting and seating customers
- Provide a formal introduction at the beginning of the event to welcome customers
- Provide step-by-step painting instruction for a group of customers while live painting
- Act as the lead entertainer for the event
- Announce dry breaks and Last Call for kitchen orders
- Engage customers from stage and 1:1 while circulating the room
- Ensure presence is strong and voice is projected at a reasonable volume
- Manage the music throughout the event to ensure the energy is high
- Manage the crowd to ensure all customers are able to see and hear the instruction
- Time manage the session to stay within assigned session time
- Support with bar service during breaks
- Follow cleaning checklists to ensure company standards are met
- When Assisting:
- Support with greeting and seating customers
- Serve as cashier, bartender and server, providing food & beverage service at bar and tableside
- Restock bar throughout the session to ensure drinks are cold and readily available
- Acting as the host of the party for a particular event
- Provide Lead with Last Call reminder for kitchen orders
- Place customer orders through the POS system and collect payment for orders
- Help customers 1:1 with any painting needs that arise
- Take customer photos during and at end of session
- Upload session photos to Google Photos prior to closing
- Ensure customers are enjoying their experience overall
- Follow cleaning checklists to ensure company standards are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be outgoing, personable and fun
- Quick understanding of how to recreate and teach our paintings
- Ability to be reliable and timely
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Thorough understanding of the company’s products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and Slack
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver license
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel as needed, up to 20% of each week
- Ability to work 15-30 hours per week
Experience/Education
- Must be 21 years or older
- 2+ years of painting experience
- Some formal training in the arts – Bachelors Degree in Art Education preferred
- Experience in teaching art, especially in groups
- Experience working in a bar or restaurant
- Alcohol Safety/TIPS certification (Muse will provide this training if needed)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, bend
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
