This holiday season, let the Annapolis Town Center help you find the right treats to impress the whole family – like these adorable Christmas Tree Brownies!
1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
2 1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup flour
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup Cream Cheese Frosting
Green food coloring
White sparkling sugar sprinkles
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease a 9- x- 13-inch metal baking dish with cooking spray. Line with two pieces of parchment paper fitting the length and width of the pan with two inches of overhang on each side (allowing for the easy lifting out of the brownies when they are finished baking).
- In a large bowl, whisk together cocoa, sugar, and flour. In a separate bowl, whisk together butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and stir with a spatula until no pockets of dry ingredients remain. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and use a spatula to spread batter evenly into pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the center is slightly firm to the touch, about 30 minutes. Allow cooling completely in pan, 1 hour.
- Use the overhanging parchment paper to lift brownies out of pan and onto a cutting board. Cut into three long rows, 3 inches in height. Then cut each row into 6 equilateral triangles, wiping the knife clean with a wet paper towel in between cuts to make them cleaner.
- In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup frosting with green food coloring to reach the desired color. Transfer to a piping bag. Transfer another 1/2 cup white frosting to another piping bag. Snip the ends of both piping bags and pipe swooping strands of green and white frosting across the brownies. Decorate with red sprinkles.
